Options flow signals API: real orders that match seven tested flow patterns

By Faizan Ahmad. Updated .

The Tradytics options flow signals API serves Signals: live options flow orders that match one of seven flow patterns from a study of 560 million pattern and horizon combinations, each tracked to expiry. Pro, $69 a month.

The study ran on 10.9 million options prints over 378 sessions, joined to real 1-minute stock bars and real option quotes. Each signal is the contract the flow bought, priced at the ask at the print's second, marked every 5 minutes and settled at expiry, with the flow behind it. Pro includes 300 calls a minute and 50,000 a day, on the same key as options flow, dark pool, dealer exposure and the AI Fund's trades.

What the Signals API returns

EndpointWhat it returns
GET /signalsSignals newest first, cursor-paged, filtered by pattern (source), symbol, status (open or settled) or day
GET /signals/{id}One signal with every 5-minute mark of its contract and the flow behind it: the contract's prints and the ticker's flow in the minutes before it fired

The seven patterns

Signals come from seven sources, each a pattern found in the study of 560 million combinations: Repeat flow (repeat-flow), Opening calls (opening-calls), Heavy calls (heavy-calls), ETF repeat (etf-repeat-calls), ITM puts (itm-puts), Call burst (burst-calls) and Index tide (index-tide-calls). A trained filter hides the weakest prints before a signal fires. Every signal is a real order from the full OPRA tape, priced where you could have bought it, and followed with real quotes to the end. More in the signal patterns and how Signals are built; the feed is at Signals.

How it joins the other datasets

The backtester runs the same kind of flow rule in plain words on every order since March 31, 2025, with options filled at the real bid and ask.

From Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

The Tradytics MCP server at https://tradytics.com/mcp gives agents Signals as a tool, with a signal's full timeline and marks. Ask "What signals fired on MSFT this week?" and the assistant reads them itself, on your Pro limits. More in the Tradytics API and MCP server.

Common questions

Is there an options flow signals API?

Yes. GET /signals returns real orders from the live options flow that match one of seven flow patterns tested across 560 million pattern and horizon combinations, in Pro for $69 a month.

How is a signal priced?

At the ask at the second the order printed, the price you could have bought the contract at. It is marked every 5 minutes and settled at expiry, and every mark is in GET /signals/{id}.

Which flow patterns do the signals use?

Seven: Repeat flow, Opening calls, Heavy calls, ETF repeat, ITM puts, Call burst and Index tide. Each signal names its pattern in source and kind.

Can I see the flow behind a signal?

Yes. GET /signals/{id} returns the contract's prints and the ticker's flow in the minutes before the signal fired, next to its marks.

Can Claude or ChatGPT read Tradytics signals?

Yes. The Tradytics MCP server includes a Signals tool, so Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can list signals and read one's timeline on your Pro plan.
