Tradytics vs SpotGamma
By Faizan Ahmad. Updated .
Choose SpotGamma if dealer positioning is how you trade, especially SPX and the indexes: its key levels, HIRO real-time hedging indicator, TRACE heatmap and daily Founder's Notes go deeper on gamma than Tradytics does. Choose Tradytics if gamma is one input among several and you want it next to live options flow, dark pool prints, research on every US stock and ETF and an AI analyst, in one app. As of October 2026, Tradytics Live is $39 a month and SpotGamma's entry plans are listed at $89 to $99 a month.

Prices checked October 31, 2026. SpotGamma's subscribe page shows two plan grids with different names and prices (Standard, Pro and Alpha in one; Essential, Alpha and Institutional in the other) and first-month discounts of $17, $25 and $49, so confirm the current tier there before you buy. "Not listed" means we didn't find it on the vendor's own pages.
How do gamma levels look on a real day?
On October 30, 2026, Tradytics' dealer gamma for SPY showed total gamma of -$335.55M. Negative means dealers' hedging trades with the move instead of against it, which tends to amplify swings. The call wall sat at $810, the put wall at $758 and the gamma flip at $738.08, and the single biggest strike was $758 at -$364.81M. SPY fell 1.59% that day and closed at $757.12, just under the put wall.
A levels map like this shows where hedging pressure is concentrated, based on open interest. It doesn't tell you which way the next move goes. Watching hedging flows change during the session is the job SpotGamma built HIRO for. If you want the map plus the flow and dark pool levels around it, that's the Tradytics side. New to the terms? Start with what gamma exposure is and call walls and put walls.

Where SpotGamma wins
- Depth on gamma. Dealer positioning is the whole product, and SpotGamma is the category reference for gamma levels and SPX positioning. Its key levels and Equity Hub cover more than 3,500 stocks.
- HIRO. A real-time view of the hedging impact of options trades, something a levels map built from open interest can't give you.
- TRACE. A heatmap of S&P 500 positioning, for traders who live in index options.
- Human commentary. Daily Founder's Notes with key levels and the team's read, plus twice-weekly Q&As, live webinars and an Academy. Tradytics' explanations come from its AI analyst, not a daily note from a person.
- Works with your charts. SpotGamma's levels integrate with other charting platforms.
Where Tradytics wins
- Gamma plus everything around it. Live options flow from OPRA, dark pool prints and levels, research pages for every US stock and ETF, a 120-signal scanner, charts, a strategy builder and portfolio tools sit in the same app as the gamma levels. SpotGamma doesn't list dark pool prints.
- Price. Live is $39 a month ($299 a year) and Pro is $69 ($499 a year), against SpotGamma's $89 to $99 entry plans and $299 Alpha, as of October 2026.
- An AI analyst for any ticker. Ask "Where are SPY's gamma walls?" and it pulls the put wall, call wall, flip and total gamma, then explains them in plain words. It can set the same answer beside the flow and dark pool prints, because it pulls all three itself. See what you can ask it.
- A real free plan. Every page and tool on yesterday's session, gamma included, with no card.
- API and MCP on Pro. Pull options flow, dark pool prints and research into your own code, or into Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, for $69 a month. SpotGamma's data licensing is aimed at institutional desks.

Who should choose which
Choose SpotGamma if
- You trade SPX and other index options around dealer levels and want the deepest gamma toolkit sold to retail.
- You want a person's daily read of the market, not only data.
- You want to watch hedging pressure change during the session with HIRO.
Choose Tradytics if
- Gamma is one input and you also want live options flow and dark pool levels.
- You want gamma for single stocks next to their flow, dark pool and research pages, for example SPY's options page.
- Your budget is closer to $39 than $99 a month, or you want to start on a free plan.
Use both if
You want SpotGamma's levels and commentary plus a flow and dark pool tool. At entry list prices that's $128 to $138 a month as of October 2026. Other choices are in the best gamma exposure tools and Tradytics vs MenthorQ.
Common questions
Does Tradytics have gamma exposure (GEX)?
Yes, on every plan. It shows dealer gamma by strike with the call wall, put wall and gamma flip, and total gamma in dollars of stock dealers trade per 1% move. A positive total means dealers trade against the move (dampens it); negative means they trade with it (amplifies it).
How much does SpotGamma cost?
As of October 2026, its subscribe page lists entry plans at $89 and $99 a month under different names, and Alpha at $299 a month or $2,691 a year, with first-month discounts. The two plan grids on the page don't match, so confirm the tier before paying.
Does SpotGamma show options flow?
Yes. Its Tape tool covers more than 3,000 tickers, and HIRO shows the hedging impact of options in real time. It doesn't list dark pool prints.
Is GEX accurate?
Every GEX number rests on assumptions about which side of each trade dealers hold, so treat levels as a map of where hedging may concentrate, not a forecast. Tradytics computes its levels from open interest by strike. How GEX is calculated covers the limits.
Does SpotGamma have a free plan?
No. It offers a free week of its daily Opening Setup email and free tools such as SPX gamma exposure and an options calculator. Tradytics' Free plan is free forever, on yesterday's session.
