The best Unusual Whales alternatives
By Faizan Ahmad. Updated .
The best Unusual Whales alternatives depend on why you're leaving. For a lower price with live flow, dark pool prints, gamma, research and an AI analyst in one app, Tradytics costs $39 a month, with a Free plan on yesterday's session. For a focused flow feed, pick Cheddar Flow; for deeper dealer exposure, Quant Data; for a low yearly price with AI alerts, BullFlow ($396 a year) or InsiderFinance ($55 a month billed yearly). For reference, Unusual Whales starts at $50 a month and has a free tier, as of October 2026.
Why people look for Unusual Whales alternatives
Unusual Whales is the broadest retail data terminal, and that breadth is the usual reason people leave as well as stay. The common reasons:
- Cost. Plans run $50, $75 and $120 a month, and its API is a separate product from $99 a month.
- No trial and no refunds. The dashboard has no trial (the delayed free tier stands in), and all sales are final.
- Too much on screen. A full tape across every exchange is a lot to sort through, especially for newer traders.
- Flow doesn't explain itself. No tool can be sure whether a print was bought or sold, opened or closed, a hedge or a bet.
That last point is the real one. On October 30, 2026, there were 73,896 large options prints across the market: $11.84B in call premium and $12.72B in put premium. Any full-tape tool hands you that haystack. What separates tools is how well they help you find and read the few prints that matter. Our guide on how to filter options flow covers the filters that cut it down on any platform.
The best Unusual Whales alternatives
Tradytics: flow, dark pools and an AI analyst for $39
Tradytics is one web app with live options flow (OPRA, live to the second), dark pool prints, dealer gamma, research on every US stock and ETF, a 120-signal scanner that updates after the close, charts, an options strategy builder, broker-linked portfolio tracking and an AI analyst. Live is $39 a month or $299 a year with 20 AI questions a day. Pro is $69 a month or $499 a year, with unlimited AI questions, AI trade ideas as they open, and an API (50,000 calls a day) with an MCP server, against $99 a month for Unusual Whales' data-only API. The Free plan shows every page and tool on yesterday's session, with no card. Congress and insider trades are on the Markets page.
The AI analyst does the reading for you: it pulls the flow, dark pool and gamma itself and says what a trade likely is. Asked about NVDA's flow on the Free plan, it flagged that the biggest print, $114M in Nov 20 $240 puts, was a mid-price spread, not a clean bet.

Best for: traders who want the core of Unusual Whales (flow, dark pool, gamma, AI) for less, plus a portfolio tracker and an AI that reads the trades. Skip it if: you need a native phone app with push alerts, deep Congress tracking or prediction markets. Its dark pool prints arrive within about 15 minutes of their report, with levels built from 10 sessions of prints. Full comparison: Tradytics vs Unusual Whales.
Cheddar Flow: a focused flow feed
Cheddar Flow is built around the order flow itself: sweeps, blocks, unusual activity and AI-scanned alerts. Standard is $85 a month with a 7-day free trial; Pro, with dark pool prints and gamma levels, is $99 a month or $75 a month billed yearly. Payments are non-refundable. Best for: traders who find big terminals noisy, and Discord communities that want flow bots. It costs more than Unusual Whales at the entry level. See Unusual Whales vs Cheddar Flow.
Quant Data: for dealer exposure
Quant Data is $74.99 a month or $62.50 a month billed yearly, with a 7-day trial. One plan includes real-time flow, dark pool prints, gamma, delta, vanna and charm exposure with a heat map of more than 30 metrics, an API with native MCP support, iOS and Android apps, and a futures add-on. Best for: traders who work around dealer positioning. It doesn't list an AI assistant. See Quant Data vs Unusual Whales.
InsiderFinance: one plan, lower yearly price
InsiderFinance sells one all-inclusive plan: $75 a month, $65 a month billed quarterly, or $55 a month billed yearly ($660). It includes real-time flow, dark pool prints (which it says are real time), gamma exposure, AI flow analysis, iOS and Android apps, Discord and trading courses. A free flow page shows the 15 most recent trades, 30 minutes late. Best for: traders who want one price and structured education.
BullFlow: a low yearly price with AI alerts
BullFlow Basic is $396 a year ($33 a month billed yearly) for real-time flow, gamma levels and AI trade alerts. Premium, at $708 a year, adds dark pool prints (which it says are real time), gamma updates every 5 seconds and AI agent analysis. A Data API plan at $1,188 a year adds API and MCP access for personal use. It has an iOS app and a Discord. Best for: price-first traders happy to pay yearly.
OptionStrat: if you build strategies
OptionStrat is best known for its visual strategy builder and optimizer. Live Flow, at $99.99 a month or $999.99 a year, adds real-time flow with per-alert performance tracking. It doesn't list dark pool prints or GEX, its free plan is 15 minutes delayed, and it offers one 7-day trial and no refunds. Best for: traders who turn flow ideas into spreads.

Should you leave Unusual Whales at all?
If you use its breadth daily (Congress trades, prediction markets, GEX on many tickers, phone alerts), it is hard to replace with one tool, and its $50 entry plan is fair for that. If you mostly watch flow and a few levels, you are likely paying for features you skip. Try a free option first: Unusual Whales' own free tier, or the Tradytics Free plan.
