Do you need a news terminal or options flow?
They answer different questions. A news terminal tells you why a stock is moving, as fast as possible. Options flow shows how traders are positioning with real money while it moves.
On October 30, 2026, AMD fell 10.28%. The headline explained why: Tradytics' daily "Why it's moving" story said Intel's weak outlook rattled chip stocks ahead of AMD's Tuesday earnings report. The options tape showed what traders did about it: $201.13M of AMD puts traded against $128.95M of calls, and net premium came out at -$28.20M, one of the most bearish readings in the market that day. Benzinga is built to get you the first part fast. Tradytics is built for the second. Neither tells you what happens next: flow is context, not a signal, and a big put trade can be a hedge as easily as a bet. What net options flow means walks through the math.

Where Benzinga Pro wins
- Headline speed. News is the product. Benzinga says its newsfeed carries wire exclusives 5 to 15 minutes before mainstream sources, on every plan. Tradytics doesn't try to be first to a headline.
- Audio squawk. From Streamlined ($147 a month) up, headlines are read aloud, so your eyes can stay on a chart.
- Calendars and catalysts. A broad set of calendars and catalyst tracking, for traders who plan the day around scheduled events.
- One bundle on Essential. Benzinga AI, the real-time scanner, Signals and seven chat rooms come together in one plan.
- A 14-day free trial, even on annual plans, so you can test the live product before paying. Tradytics has no trial; its Free plan shows yesterday's session instead.
Where Tradytics wins
- The options and dark pool data itself. Tradytics shows every large US options trade from OPRA, the consolidated options tape, live to the second on Live and Pro, with side (at the ask, at the bid, mid), size, open interest, Vol/OI, type (sweep, block, split) and tags such as Opening and Spread. It adds dark pool prints with 10-session levels and dealer gamma with call walls, put walls and the gamma flip. Benzinga lists unusual options alerts in its Signals feed, not a full tape, dark pool prints or gamma.
- Price for options traders. Live flow and dark pool prints start at $39 a month ($299 a year). Benzinga's Signals and AI need Essential, $197 a month or $1,997 a year, as of October 2026.
- AI on every plan. The Tradytics AI analyst is on Free (3 questions a day), Live (20) and Pro (unlimited). It decides what data it needs, pulls flow, dark pool prints, gamma, prices and news itself, shows its steps, and tells you whether a big trade looks like a hedge, a spread or a fresh bet. See what you can ask it. Benzinga AI is Essential only.
- Research built for options. Each ticker's options page has net flow, the expected move, implied volatility, open interest with max pain and dealer levels, and its dark pool page has the day's prints and levels. Try AMD's options page.
- Portfolio and developer tools. Link your broker read only on any plan; Live and Pro add portfolio factors and versus. Pro includes a JSON API and an MCP server, 50,000 calls a day.

Who should choose which
Choose Benzinga Pro if
- You trade headlines, earnings and other catalysts during the session, and speed matters more than anything else.
- You want audio squawk running while you trade.
- You want to try the full paid product for 14 days before committing.
Choose Tradytics if
- You trade options and want to see the flow, the dark pool levels and dealer gamma behind a move.
- You want an AI analyst that pulls the data for you without paying $197 a month.
- You'd like to start free: the Free plan shows every page on yesterday's session, no card. All plans are in how much Tradytics costs.
Use both if
You want fast headlines and options positioning. Benzinga Basic ($37) plus Tradytics Live ($39) is $76 a month as of October 2026, well under Benzinga Essential alone. For a wider look, see the best options flow apps and flow tool prices side by side.
Common questions
Is Benzinga Pro good for options flow?
It's a news terminal first. Its options coverage is unusual options alerts in the Signals feed on Essential ($197 a month as of October 2026); it doesn't list a full options tape, dark pool prints or dealer gamma. If flow is the main thing you want, a flow tool fits better.
Does Tradytics have news?
Yes. The Markets page carries news alongside insider and Congress trades, and the largest stocks get a daily "Why it's moving" story. Tradytics isn't built to beat the newswires on headline speed.
Which is cheaper?
Entry prices are close: Benzinga Basic is $37 a month and Tradytics Live is $39, as of October 2026, but they buy different things. The gap shows up for AI: Benzinga AI needs Essential at $197 a month, while the Tradytics AI analyst is on every plan, including Free.
Does either have a free trial?
Benzinga Pro offers 14 days free, also on annual plans. Tradytics has no trial; its Free plan is free forever with every page on yesterday's session.
Is Tradytics' dark pool data real time?
No. Tradytics shows dark pool prints within about 15 minutes of their report. Dark pool data is read for levels built over days, and the biggest prints are often reported late anyway, which is why that window doesn't change the levels.
