The best options flow apps in 2026

By Faizan Ahmad. Updated .

There is no single best options flow app; the right one depends on what you need next to the tape. Unusual Whales is the broadest data terminal ($50 a month, with a free tier two trading days behind), and Tradytics has the lowest price for live flow we found ($39 a month or $299 a year) with flow, dark pool prints, dealer gamma, research and an agentic AI analyst in one app. Cheddar Flow is a clean, focused flow feed ($85, with a 7-day trial) and Quant Data goes deepest on dealer exposure at its price ($74.99). All prices are list prices checked October 31, 2026.

How we compared these apps

We looked at 20 tools traders compare for flow and kept the ones that sell options flow today. Every competitor fact comes from that company's own pages, checked October 31, 2026; Cheddar Flow, BullFlow and Barchart block automated checks, so theirs come from captures of their own pages on October 9 and 10, 2026. Tradytics makes one of these apps, so we kept our claims to what you can see in it. How we write and check these pages.

BullFlow's page showed yearly prices only. FlowAlgo is not on the list because you can't subscribe: it took its service offline on October 30, 2026, saying Cboe is discontinuing a product at the core of its data processing. It cancelled subscriptions with prorated refunds, keeps existing data viewable free until November 13, 2026, and promises an all-new FlowAlgo in Q1 2027. What separates flow apps: one real day

Every US options trade prints on the same consolidated tape, OPRA, so apps differ less in which trades they show than in how fast you can tell a bet from noise. On October 30, 2026, the biggest single print was an SPX December 18 12000 put: 1,000 contracts and $438.98M in premium at 3:26 PM ET, with SPX at 7588.92. But the put was about 4,400 points in the money, so its premium was essentially all intrinsic value, and it says little about where anyone thinks the index is going.

Eight minutes earlier, someone bought 5,350 Citigroup (C) December 18 $75 calls at the ask for $24.82M, twice the contract's open interest of 2,675. A smaller print, but a likely new, bullish position. A good app makes that difference obvious: the side (at the ask or at the bid), size against open interest, Opening and Spread tags, and on Tradytics an AI analyst that reads the prints and says what they likely are. Our guide to reading options flow walks through each column.

Where each app wins

Unusual Whales: best for the broadest data terminal

Flow, GEX, dark pool, Congress trades and prediction markets in one place, with native iOS and Android apps, a large public Discord and a free tier with no time limit. It also sells a data API from $99 a month with an MCP server and a 7-day API trial. There is no dashboard trial, and all sales are final. More in Tradytics vs Unusual Whales.

Tradytics: best for one app at the lowest live price

Live ($39) covers the live options flow, dark pool prints and levels, dealer gamma, research on every US stock and ETF, a 120-signal scanner, charts and a strategy builder. The AI analyst is an agent: it pulls flow, dark pool prints and gamma itself and tells you whether a big trade looks like a hedge, a spread or a fresh bet. Pro ($69) adds unlimited AI, trade ideas as they open, and the API and MCP server. Free shows every page on yesterday's session with no card. It runs in the browser on desktop and phone.

Cheddar Flow: best for a clean, focused feed

A focused flow screen with sweeps, blocks and unusual activity, Discord bots for communities, and a 7-day free trial on Standard. Professional adds dark pool prints, which it says are real time, GEX levels and AI power alerts. Payments are non-refundable. See Tradytics vs Cheddar Flow and Unusual Whales vs Cheddar Flow.

Quant Data: best for dealer exposure next to flow

Gamma, delta, vanna and charm exposure, a heat map with more than 30 metrics and an intraday interval map, beside full flow and dark pool levels. One plan, drag-and-drop layouts, iOS and Android apps, an API with native MCP support, and a Discord of more than 15,000 members. More in Tradytics vs Quant Data.

InsiderFinance: best for one all-in plan with courses

Every feature in one plan: real-time flow, dark pool and equity prints (which it says are real time), gamma exposure, technical analysis and crypto and forex scanners, plus trading courses. $75 monthly, $65 a month billed quarterly, or $55 a month billed yearly. More in Tradytics vs InsiderFinance.

BullFlow: best for fast GEX and a low-cost API

Basic includes real-time flow and gamma levels; Premium adds dark pool prints it describes as real time, GEX that refreshes every 5 seconds, vanna exposure and AI agent analysis. The Data API plan ($99 a month billed yearly) includes Premium plus MCP access for personal use. More in Tradytics vs BullFlow.

OptionStrat: best if you trade from a strategy builder

Its strength is the visual strategy builder and optimizer, and its flow tracks how each alert performed. Live flow needs the top plan, Live Flow, at $99.99 a month ($999.99 a year). There's a 7-day trial and no refunds. More in Tradytics vs OptionStrat.

BlackBoxStocks: best for stocks and options with live trading rooms

Algorithmic stock and options scanners, real-time flow from $59 a month, dark pool prints and gamma exposure from Options Plus ($79), live trading rooms, an education program and a mobile app. All sales are final. More in Tradytics vs BlackBoxStocks.

Optionomics: best for a public track record

It publishes its trade ideas with a public track record. Live flow starts on Gamma ($59), the research assistant on Theta ($79), and API and MCP on Vega ($99). Its free public tools need no account.

Barchart Premier: best if delayed data is enough

The cheapest way to get unusual options activity, options flow and options screeners, with a 30-day free trial and history back to 2017. The options data is delayed, so it suits after-the-fact research more than intraday trading. More in Tradytics vs Barchart.

Also worth knowing: TrendSpider adds real-time unusual options flow to its charting and automation from $89 a month (Tradytics vs TrendSpider), SpotGamma's Tape covers flow for its gamma users (see the best GEX tools), and TradeAlgo's Terminal is $2,995 a year, annual only.

How to choose an options flow app

Common questions

What is the cheapest live options flow app?

Of the tools we checked, Tradytics Live has the lowest list price for live flow: $39 a month or $299 a year. BullFlow Basic is $396 a year, and Unusual Whales Retail Basic is $50 a month. Every plan is in options flow prices side by side.

Which flow apps say their dark pool data is real time?

Unusual Whales, Cheddar Flow, BlackBoxStocks, InsiderFinance and BullFlow. Tradytics shows prints within about 15 minutes of their report; dark pool data is read for levels built over days, and the biggest prints are often reported late anyway.

Can any flow app tell if a trade is a hedge?

Not with certainty, because no tool sees the trader's other positions. Side, size against open interest and spread tags narrow it down; here is how to tell if a big options trade is a hedge.
