Tradytics vs OptionStrat

By Faizan Ahmad. Updated .

Pick OptionStrat if building and comparing options strategies is the heart of how you trade: its visual builder and optimizer are best in class, and Live Tools costs $39.99 a month as of October 2026. Pick Tradytics if you want live options flow with dark pool prints, dealer gamma, research and an AI analyst in one app, plus a strategy builder, for $39 a month on Live; OptionStrat's live flow sits on its $99.99 Live Flow plan. The two also work well together: OptionStrat to shape the trade, Tradytics to see where the money is going.

How do Tradytics and OptionStrat compare?

OptionStrat is a strategy builder and optimizer with an unusual options flow feed, plus Congress and insider flow. Tradytics is a flow and market-data app (options flow, dark pools, gamma, research, a scanner, charts) with a builder included. The overlap is real, but each is stronger on its home ground.

Where OptionStrat wins

Where Tradytics wins

Reading a spread in the flow: a real example

On October 30, 2026, at 10:42 AM ET, two SPX blocks printed in the same minute: 5,000 December 18 7000 calls for $348.68M and 5,000 December 18 8000 puts for $186.77M, with the index at 7655.67. At 1:52 PM the same pair came again: 4,500 of each, for $294.52M and $191.79M.

Same expiry, same size, same minute, twice: these are almost certainly legs of one structured position, not a $348.68M bullish bet next to a separate bearish one. Read the rows one at a time and you misread the trade. This is where the two kinds of tool meet. A flow tool tells you the trade happened and how big it was; a builder shows what the combined position pays at each price. Tradytics marks prints it recognizes as multi-leg with Spread or Complex tags, and its AI analyst flags spreads when it reads the flow (more in how to read spreads in options flow). OptionStrat's builder is the deeper place to model a structure like this once you've found it.

Use both if you build strategies seriously and follow flow. OptionStrat Live Tools ($39.99) plus Tradytics Live ($39) is $78.99 a month as of October 2026, or keep OptionStrat's free plan for modeling and pay only for Tradytics. The Tradytics builder guide shows what it does if you'd rather keep everything in one app. For how both sit among the other flow tools, see the best options flow apps in 2026.

Common questions

Does OptionStrat have live options flow?

Yes, on its Live Flow plan ($99.99 a month or $999.99 a year as of October 2026), which shows trades without delay. Otherwise its data is delayed 15 minutes by default. Tradytics shows flow live to the second on Live ($39) and Pro ($69).

Does Tradytics have a strategy builder like OptionStrat's?

Yes. It builds any options strategy and shows payoff at expiry and before, P&L by price and date, and greeks, on every plan. OptionStrat's builder and optimizer go further for strategy-first traders.

Does OptionStrat show dark pool prints or gamma?

Neither is listed as of October 2026; its flow menu covers live, historical, news, Congress and insider flow. Tradytics has both, and its dark pool page is covered in the best dark pool data tools.

Which has a free plan or trial?

Both have free plans. OptionStrat's has delayed data and limited access to each feature, and new customers also get a 7-day trial. Tradytics has no trial; its Free plan shows every page and tool on yesterday's session, no card.

Can I get a refund?

OptionStrat says it doesn't offer full or partial refunds; you can cancel anytime to stop renewal. On Tradytics you cancel anytime in Billing and keep access to the end of the period you paid for.
