Where to see options flow and dark pool data for free

By Faizan Ahmad. Updated .

You can see real options flow and dark pool prints for free, but every free tier with a stated timing is delayed. Tradytics Free shows every page, including the full flow tape, dark pool prints and levels, dealer gamma and 3 AI questions a day, for yesterday's session with no card. Unusual Whales' free tier shows flow two trading days behind, InsiderFinance shows the 15 latest trades 30 minutes delayed, and OptionStrat's free plan runs on 15-minute delayed data. For dark pools, FINRA also publishes each alternative trading system's weekly volume free, two to four weeks later.

Barchart's free plan has no options flow; its Premier plan, with delayed unusual options activity and flow, has a 30-day free trial and costs $29.95 a month after. FlowAlgo, which had no free plan, has been offline since October 30, 2026.

What "yesterday's session" looks like

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, a Tradytics Free account showed the whole Friday, October 30 session. Market net premium was -$86.53M across 73,896 large prints, a bearish lean. The unusual bets list had 5,350 Citigroup December 18 $75 calls bought at the ask for $24.82M, twice the contract's open interest. The dark pool page had a late $2.84B SPY print reported at 4:28 PM, and SPY's biggest 10-session dark pool level at $769.48, where $20.78B had printed.

All of it is real data, and none of it arrives in time to trade that day's move. That is the honest trade-off of free flow: it's for learning, research and levels, not for reacting. Here is everything the Tradytics free plan includes.

Where each free option wins

Tradytics Free: the most complete free view

Every page and tool works on yesterday's session: the options flow page with side chips and Opening tags, the dark pool page with levels, dealer gamma, research, the scanner, charts and the strategy builder, plus a broker-linked portfolio tracker. The AI analyst answers 3 questions a day. No card and no trial clock; Live is $39 a month when you need it live.

Unusual Whales free tier: a delayed version of a big terminal

The full dashboard, screeners and charts, delayed, with flow two trading days behind, news 15 minutes behind and alerts 30 minutes behind. It includes watchlists, saved filters and the community Discord, with no time limit. Unusual Whales offers no dashboard trial, so the free tier is how you try it. InsiderFinance: a quick look at fresh trades

The free page shows the 15 most recent trades with a 30-minute delay, plus a free hourly AI flow analysis. Fresh, but only a sample. More in Tradytics vs InsiderFinance.

OptionStrat and Optionomics: free tools first

OptionStrat's free plan gives its strategy builder and flow on 15-minute delayed data with limited access. Optionomics has public tools with no account (expected moves, options flow, earnings analysis, Market Pulse) and opens the previous trading day's research in some app pages. More in Tradytics vs OptionStrat.

MenthorQ and SpotGamma: free gamma, not flow

MenthorQ's free plan needs no card and includes its QUIN AI assistant, a delayed preview of its models, its academy and Discord. SpotGamma has a free SPX gamma exposure tool and a free week of its daily email. Neither shows a flow tape for free.

FINRA: the free primary source for dark pools

FINRA publishes weekly trading volume for each alternative trading system, the category dark pools register under, no earlier than two weeks after the week ends for the biggest, most traded stocks (FINRA's Tier 1) and four weeks for the rest. It's slow, but it's the official record of which venues traded what.

Free trials, if you want live data first

Trials are the other free route, and the only free way to see live data. Cheddar Flow gives 7 days on its $85 Standard plan, Quant Data 7 days on its $74.99 plan, OptionStrat 7 days, and Barchart 30 days on Premier, which is delayed. Unusual Whales has a 7-day trial on its API only, and TrendSpider's 14-day trial costs $19 to $49. Tradytics has no trial: Free is the way to try it (why there's no trial). Unusual Whales, Cheddar Flow and OptionStrat say payments are non-refundable, so cancel before a trial converts if it isn't for you. Prices checked October 31, 2026.

Is free flow enough?

For a lot of traders, yes. Delayed flow is enough to learn the columns on real trades, to look back at what traded before a move, and to follow repeat buying in one name across several days. Dark pool levels are built from 10 sessions of prints, so a one-day delay barely moves them. Free flow is not enough if you trade intraday or 0DTE, where a print matters in the minutes after it hits. Our take on when it's worth paying: is paying for options flow worth it?

Common questions

Is there free real-time options flow?

Not that we could find. Every free tier with a stated timing is delayed, from 15 minutes (OptionStrat) and 30 minutes (InsiderFinance's sample) to a full day (Tradytics Free) or two trading days (Unusual Whales). TradeAlgo and Optionomics don't state the timing of their free flow pages.

Where can I see dark pool prints for free?

Tradytics Free shows every dark pool print for yesterday's session, with venue, sale condition and 10-session levels. FINRA's weekly data by trading venue is free but two to four weeks behind. More in the best dark pool data tools.

What's the cheapest way to get live flow?

Tradytics Live, at $39 a month or $299 a year, is the lowest list price for live flow we found. Every plan from every tool is in options flow prices side by side.

Does my broker show options flow?

Broker option chains show each contract's volume and open interest, the raw material of unusual activity. What they don't give you is a filtered, market-wide feed of large prints with side and sweep tags, which is what flow tools add. Start with how to read options flow.
