Tradytics vs Trade Ideas
By Faizan Ahmad. Updated .
Choose Trade Ideas if you day trade stocks and want a real-time scanner with streaming alerts, Holly AI buy and sell signals, OddsMaker backtesting and auto trading through your broker. Choose Tradytics if you trade options, or want to see options flow, dark pool prints and dealer gamma, none of which Trade Ideas lists. As of October 2026, Tradytics Live is $39 a month and TI Standard is $127 a month. Tradytics' scanner updates after the close, so it doesn't replace an intraday stock scanner.

What can options flow show that a stock scanner can't?
A stock scanner watches price and volume. Options flow watches the bets placed on top of them. On October 30, 2026, Citi (C) fell 2.6%, the kind of move any stock scanner flags. The options tape showed something else: at 3:18 PM ET, 5,350 of the December 18 $75 calls were bought at the ask for $24.82M, against open interest of just 2,675, and in the same minute 4,270 of the $72.5 calls were bought at the ask for $20.86M against open interest of 2,133.
Size bigger than open interest means most of it was likely new positions, which is what the Opening tag marks. By the close, Citi was the market's most bullish name by net premium, $93.80M, on a red day. That doesn't mean the stock goes up next: big call buying can be one leg of a larger trade or a hedge against a short. It is information a price-and-volume scanner never sees. Where Trade Ideas wins
- Real-time intraday stock scanning. It has been doing this since 2002: more than 500 alerts and filters, the Channel Bar, Top Lists and real-time streaming alerts. Tradytics' scanner runs after the close, so for catching a stock as it breaks out mid-session, Trade Ideas is the tool.
- Holly AI with backtesting. Premium adds Holly AI buy and sell signals and OddsMaker, which backtests alerts as trading systems.
- Execution and automation. Trade through brokerage integrations, practice with paper trading, and on Premium let auto trading place orders. Tradytics links brokers read only.
- A plain-English scan builder. The AI Assistant on both plans turns a sentence into a scan.
- More screens. Up to 10 charts, and a live trading room for learning alongside others.
Where Tradytics wins
- Options data. Every large US options print from OPRA, live to the second on Live and Pro, with side chips (Above ask down to Below bid), size, open interest, Vol/OI, type and tags. Dark pool prints with 10-session levels, and dealer gamma with call walls, put walls and the gamma flip. Trade Ideas doesn't list any of these.
- Price. Live is $39 a month and Pro, with the API and MCP server, is $69. TI Standard is $127 and Premium, where Holly AI lives, is $254, as of October 2026.
- AI trade ideas for options. The Tradytics AI desk posts options ideas, each explained in plain words with its charts, then tracked until it closes with its full record. Pro sees them as they open; Free and Live see them the next day. Details in how Tradytics AI trade ideas work.
- An AI analyst for questions. Ask what the flow says on a ticker and it pulls the data, shows its steps and says whether a big trade looks like a hedge, a spread or a fresh bet.
- Portfolio factors. On Live and Pro, see whether your returns come from skill or just the market: excess return, market sensitivity, a factor breakdown and a stress test through six past crashes.
- A free plan with no time limit, showing every page on yesterday's session.
